The Museum Station Ahütte warmly invites you to celebrate the longest day of the year with a cultural program centered around the railway, featuring readings, exhibitions, live music, and good entertainment: On Sunday, June 21, various artists will perform at the Museum Station during the summer solstice, which is also planning its popular open-air program again.

A rail bus from the 1960s will be accessible to visitors for a "train journey" with author Mark Daniel. Mark Daniel has summarized his experiences as a train traveler in a very entertaining "Diary of a Train Maniac," from which he will read in style in the rail bus. "Train cancellations, delays, disputes over the Germany ticket: those wanting to bash the railway can draw from a wealth of daily mishaps. However, one can also view travel with Deutsche Bahn quite differently: No trip is like another, and time and again the points switch to adventure," he describes his experiences himself.
Humorous, sharp-edged, and full of quirky episodes and exciting encounters that life with the railway offers today, he will present his experiences. And, of course, entertaining train announcements will also be part of his readings in between.

Meanwhile, in the historical waiting hall of the Museum Station, artist Jan-Ole Schmidt looks forward to visitors. The railway also accompanies him through life, but in a completely different way: He photographs trains. However, not in the way one might expect. His project "Passing trains - Color Worlds of Abstract Trains" is what he exhibits at the Museum Station. He encourages viewing the railway beyond traditional documentation. Passing freight trains transform in his works into abstract color worlds through long exposure times, where the real form recedes. The series is intended as a graphic homage to the diversity of freight transport and to the goods that still find their way by rail today. The photographs deliberately detach from recognizable reality and become graphic compositions.

With hopefully beautiful early summer evenings, the station's gastronomy also invites guests to strengthen their physical well-being and serves pancakes in choices of flavors from savory to spicy to sweet upon request. Guests can sit on the covered shady loading ramp of the Museum Station and enjoy the early summer evening, winding down with live music from Winfried Bode and some cool drinks. The Cologne musician and songwriter Winfried Bode will again serve a spectacular "Railway Session" featuring both well-known and self-composed songs. He is known for his wide repertoire of Fifties/Sixties classics, rock'n'roll, country, and folk.

The event starts at 6:00 p.m. Participation is only possible with prior registration and as long as places are available. The "ticket" for the evening costs €29 (early bird until June 15 reduced to €25). Information and registration at www.bahnhofsleben.de and bahnhofsvorsteher@bahnhofsleben.de
