Hands up! The Hillesheim Crime Days enter their third round from 4 - 7 September 2025!

Hillesheim Crime Days from 4 - 7 September 2025

When the Eifel region becomes the scene of numerous crimes for just under a week, then it's time again for the Hillesheim Crime Days - an event that combines the dark side of literature with genuine Eifel charm. This is where the crime stars meet their audience at exciting events and provide days full of suspense, fun and top entertainment.

The event begins with ‘Murder made in Eifel’ - a tribute to the murderous side of the region. With Barbara Philipp, Steffen Will and Bernd Hölscher, well-known crime thriller faces from film and TV are coming together - all three of them from the Eifel! When they recite Eifel crime thriller texts - accompanied by music from Helm van Hahm - it's pure cinema for the ears!

But that's just the beginning. The bestselling thriller author Romy Hausmann reads from her recently published novel ‘Himmelerdenblau’. It's pure thrills and excitement for the audience. She will be accompanied musically by Fortuna Ehrenfeld - the Cologne artist and producer Martin Bechler.

A special highlight is the hike on the Gerolsteiner Krimisteig, Germany's first crime trail. During the walk through the beautiful Eifel idyll, participants are accompanied by exciting stories and tricky puzzles along the way. A nature tour full of fun and excitement - perfect for all those who like to be active and want to join in the excitement.

There is a special surprise for the little detectives: author Judith Merchant reads from ‘Holly Holunder’, an exciting story full of mystical adventures and secrets that will make children's hearts beat faster.

Three true crime cops from Düsseldorf are stirring up the town of Hillesheim with their latest novel ‘Payday’. Real heroes in the fight against crime - a humorous read that is guaranteed to leave no eye dry.

If you want to get your day off to a good start, the crime quiz breakfast with TV presenter Martin Seidler and crime writer Andrea Revers is just the thing for you. Here you can puzzle, laugh and, of course, marvel while you enjoy your breakfast.

The programme is rounded off with a reading and live music entitled ‘Mukke, Mord und munt're Männer’. Three crime writers - Dieter Aurass, Ralf Kramp and Wolfgang Süß - offer an afternoon full of suspense, humour and unforgettable moments at the historic town wall in Hillesheim to the music of Silent Kitchen - as you can only experience it in the Eifel.

A genuine Eifel crime film will conclude the festival: ‘Tatort Falkenlay - Mörderische Kunst’, a film production from the village of Kennfus that has real cinema quality, will be shown on the Eifel Film Stage!  Suspense, passion, nostalgia, Ballermann romance and plenty of humour, performed by an ensemble of over 90 amateur actors from the Eifel region.

The Crime Days in the crime capital of Hillesheim are THE CRIME EVENT of the year - an enjoyable crime spectacle in which murderous suspense and subtle humour dance arm in arm through the programme. Anyone in the mood for a criminally colourful programme should not miss out on these murderous days.
