On the occasion of the nationwide "Day of the Railway 2025," Rainer Bohnet, former managing director of the Rhein-Sieg-Eisenbahn, will visit the Ahütte Museum Station. Mr. Bohnet will talk about his decision to leave DB and switch to RSE, as well as address the current crisis of the railway and present possible solutions. Night train travel was once the stuff of legend, with luxurious trains where kings and princes met divas, oil sheikhs, spies, and arms dealers, before the illustrious company increasingly shifted to airplanes. On long journeys that crossed cultural boundaries. After a brief introduction to the history of the most legendary of all night trains, guests can look forward to a 3-course menu, during which some prominent, long-deceased guests of that legendary night train are expected to make an appearance. Individual, short theater scenes will also take place in our train (unheated). Participation 79.00 € including meals, plus drinks as chosen. Participation only by prior registration.
