Unlimited cycling fun between Jünkerath and Büllingen

Cycling action day ‘Borderless Kyll Cycle Path’ on Sunday, 10 August

On 10 August, the ‘Borderless Kyll Cycle Route’ cycling day once again invites you to enjoy a special experience that combines exercise, nature and regional togetherness. The approximately 30-kilometre route on the former Vennquerbahn railway line leads through gentle valleys and impressive landscapes, crossing real borders almost unnoticed four times: three times between North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate and once between Germany and Belgium. The even route on the old railway line makes the tour ideal for young and old, connoisseurs and active people.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the cycle path will be transformed into a vibrant action mile with six varied stations to linger, marvel and discover. The official opening ceremony will take place at 10.00 am in Losheim, where Mayor Rudolf Westerburg and District Administrator Markus Ramers will give the official starting signal. After the starting signal, visitors can enjoy a concert by the Wolfert Music Society. Barbecued food, fresh waffles and ice cream, a bouncy castle as well as fire brigade activities and tourist information stands will ensure a successful start. In Büllingen, lovers of Belgian cuisine will get their money's worth - with crispy fries, freshly tapped Belgian beer, sweet crêpes and cool ice cream. The action point in Hallschlag presents a colourful family programme with a bouncy castle, mini excavator fun, crate stacking, trike tours and a concert by the local music club. Kronenburg is both sporty and relaxed: outdoor fitness, a water playground and pedal boats on the lake are available here. The e-bike service station, a health quiz and gastronomic offerings invite you to refuel and take a deep breath. In Stadtkyll, everything revolves around safety and children's fun - the DLRG provides information about rescue sports, while face painting and little games will put a smile on children's faces. Jünkerath will delight visitors with a colourful mix of music, a food truck, play stations, outdoor chess and a service offer for bicycles.

And those who cycle diligently will be doubly rewarded: all participants who visit at least four action points and collect stickers for their start card will have the chance to win attractive prizes in the big competition. The cycling action day is therefore not only a sporting event, but also a celebration for the entire region - a day full of encounters, discoveries and boundless cycling fun.
