The railway depot in Gerolstein – at the same time the main headquarters of AKE railway tourism and the Vulkan-Eifel-Bahn – opens its doors to visitors this weekend. On-site, you can expect a diverse entertainment program with live music, culinary offerings, and exciting insights into the historical operating area. Among other things, you will see the historical turntable, the two water cranes, as well as the historical and newly constructed buildings on the site. As a special highlight, the Adler – a replica of the oldest steam locomotive in Germany – will visit Gerolstein this weekend and will operate shuttle rides from the railway depot.
