During restoration, frescoes were partially uncovered. The Old Church stands in the cemetery in Wiesbaum alongside a linden tree that is about 500 years old.

About this monument
One of about 70 churches of the imperial couple Wilhelm II and Auguste Viktoria. It was consecrated on 25.9.1903 and is the only one of these 70 churches to be Catholic. It was built in the neo-Romanesque style, featuring very elaborate mosaics in the interior. The construction was led by Ernst Freiherr v. Mirbach, chief court master of Her Majesty Empress Auguste Viktoria, who built it as a "family memorial" of the Mirbach family with the support and approval of the imperial couple.

Program
Starts with a holy mass in the chapel at 9:30 AM.
At approximately 11:00, there will be a guided tour of the chapel, and small groups can also visit the "family meeting room" on the upper floor and the ringing floor of the bell tower. In the afternoon, at approximately 2:30 PM, another guided tour is planned.
Coffee, cake, and snacks will be offered. Cold drinks will also be provided.
In the chapel, a picture gallery about the construction and consecration, as well as the "old chapel," will be available all day long.
As part of this year's motto: Worthy: invaluable or irreplaceable? we present the "Friends of the Chapel Mirbach", who have significantly contributed in recent years to ensure the preservation of the chapel, and will be even more challenged in the future, as repairs to the facade and the renewal of the roof will become necessary in the foreseeable future.
