A woman sits at a desk in a bright office with a computer, telephone and keyboard in front of her and smiles at the camera. Behind her are brochure racks from the tourist information office and the logo of Touristik GmbH Gerolsteiner Land.

My name is Ute Klinkhammer and I work at the tourist information office in Stadtkyll in guest services.

As a trained travel agent, I realised years ago that you don't have to travel far away. Our Eifel offers a lot of beautiful and varied landscapes that are easy to explore on foot or by bike.

I travel a lot off the beaten track and recommend the hiking trail LB1 in Birgel, with its view from the Butterley and the hike past the Hippelsteinchen. This valley with its juniper trees is reminiscent of Tuscany. The Geo-Rundweg Duppach also offers many fascinating views of the Eifel and, with the Eichholzmaar and the various Dreesen, remnants of our volcanic past. Try it out, there is a lot to discover.
