Under the expert guidance of a mushroom expert, we offer interested participants, including children, a mushroom hike in the forests of the Gerolstein region. After an assessment and identification of mushrooms, a "Eifel Mushroom Pan" will be prepared on an open fire with wood. The start is at 1:00 PM. The mushroom search lasts about 2 hours. A contribution of 20.00 Euros is required per participant for the mushroom dish. The maximum number of participants is 15 persons, and acceptance is based on the order of registrations. Wanderung zum "Scheewen Sunnech" nach Gees mit dem Eifelverein Gerolstein

On the first weekend of Lent, the tradition of driving out winter is celebrated in the Eifel region. A burning wheel wrapped in straw is rolled down the "Baarlay" to welcome spring. Afterwards, eggs and bacon or "Heedeligkooche" are eaten. The hike is approximately 10 km long. Please bring a flashlight.
