Weekend mushroom seminar for beginners

The ecology of mushrooms, the most common species, edible mushrooms and their poisonous doppelgangers, collection and preparation rules and further uses of mushrooms will be discussed. The seminar includes lectures, excursions and collecting, discussion of the finds, identification exercises, cleaning of edible mushrooms and the joint final cleaning. At the end of the seminar on Sunday, we will have a meal together made from our finds.

Recommended minimum age 10 years. Please bring sturdy shoes and a change of shoes for the seminar rooms, weatherproof clothing, if necessary a car (car pools), if necessary a collecting basket, knife and brush, and rucksack food for Saturday.

The fair in Stadtkyll traditionally invites you to visit on the third weekend in August. From Friday, 16 August to Sunday, 18 August 2024, the Stadtkyll fairgrounds will take place this year on the fairground square (Kyllwiesen). In addition to cool drinks, various food and some fairground stalls, there will once again be a Sunday flea market this year. It's that time again - in August 2024 we warmly welcome you to our living room at Löwenburg Castle. This year, "The Medicus of the Orient" will be stopping by. The Medicus, his assistant Josephine and the decoy Leopold are swindlers who take money from people with dubious remedies. They travel from place to place in a covered wagon and only stay for two to three days before their scam is discovered. Their downfall begins when the princely couple Siegesmund and Sieglinde ask the Medicus for help in curing the princess's ugly nose. He receives a large advance payment in return. How the story continues, what funny entanglements still happen and whether everything ends well is not revealed. Come and see for yourself...
