    The brand new nature trail with a forest ball track in Gerolstein's municipal forest offers fun for the whole family. Nine stations along the circular trail encourage visitors of all ages to explore, learn and play in the forest.

    Gerolstein Natural History Museum - journeys in time on the Eifelsteig

    The Natural History Museum in the old town hall of Gerolstein is on the trail of nature. In addition to minerals, rocks and fossils from the region, there are also exhibits from the prehistoric and early history as well as the most species-rich collection of butterflies in the Eifel.

    You will find the the geological field with "Geodrom" in the vulcano "Kasselburger Hahn". For families with children it offers the possibility to explore the four main rock types of the Vulkaneifel. Geo-bags can be purchased for €9.50 from the Gerolstein Tourist Information Centre.

    The barefoot trail is fun and healthy at the same time. Foot massages from gentle to strong in passing and a rediscovery of the foot feeling during a walk over the most different surfaces offers this path.

    Here you will be provided with all kinds of specialities from the region during your tour. On the grounds there is also a petting zoo for young and old and a milk filling station with farm shop - well worth a detour! We keep various animals in seven enclosures, such as rabbits and guinea pigs, goats and sheep, two alapacas and a pony. A special attraction is the pond; here live goldfish and koi as well as geese and ducks. All the animals look forward to being fed and petted by you.
