The popular family flea market on the Brunnenplatz in Gerolstein takes place every 1. Saturday of the month from 08:00 am to 03:00 pm. The way to it leads through a juniper heather near Pelm and depending on the season there is also a flora worth seeing and worth protecting. On site, you can have a good look around three different caves and find out what stories the caves can tell from 2000 years ago. Originally created by the mining of millstones, over the centuries the caves became an ice cellar and were highly valued as a refuge in times of crisis. Today, bats use the caves as winter quarters.
