Birgel- Bielenhof Alm

Here you will be provided with all kinds of specialities from the region during your tour. On the grounds there is also a petting zoo for young and old and a milk filling station with farm shop - well worth a detour! We keep various animals in seven enclosures, such as rabbits and guinea pigs, goats and sheep, two alapacas and a pony. A special attraction is the pond; here live goldfish and koi as well as geese and ducks. All the animals look forward to being fed and petted by you.

Dietzenley Vulkan & Keltenburg

About 2500 years ago there was a Celtic urbanisation with pastures on the Dietzenley. The Celtic urbanisation was protected by ring walls of up to 9 meters high and 4 meters wide against attacks. During the volcanic activity around 600.000 years ago, the area around the Dietzenley was covered with volcanic rocks. These rocks are used by the Celtics to build the ring walls.

Eichholzmaar Steffeln

The Eichholzmaar is one of the smaller maars in the district Vulkaneifel.

Growing waterfall Dreimühlen

The Dreimühlen waterfall is probably the most interesting waterfall in the Eifel. It was formed from limestone deposits of three spring tributaries of the Ahbach. Due to the constant deposition, the sinter bank is constantly "growing", which is where the name "growing waterfall" comes from.

Geoacker

You will find the the geological field with "Geodrom" in the vulcano "Kasselburger Hahn". For families with children it offers the possibility to explore the four main rock types of the Vulkaneifel.

Helenenquelle im Gerolsteiner Kurpark

The "Helenenquelle" is a source in the middle of Gerolstein, in the parc of Gerolstein!

Arensberg (Arnulphusberg)

The volcanic crater Arensberg (also called Arnulphusberg).

Buchenlochhöhle

The cave is accessible via the geo-trail "Gerolsteiner Felsenpfad" and was washed out by the power of fossil water millions of years ago. It is opened for free to the general public all through the year.

The millstone caves of the Rother Kopf

The millstone caves are located northwest of Gerolstein, between the districts of Müllenborn and Roth. A visit to the millstone caves is a must for anyone who wants to gain a really deep insight into the interior of the volcanic Eifel.

Mühlsteinhöhlen Hohenfels-Essingen

The three caves are located at Mühlenberg, north of Hohenfels-Essingen.

Birresborner Eishöhlen

Until far into the 19th century millstone were carved out in the caves. But the caves also were used as natural "refrigerators". In the winter time they were equipped with ice and snow so that cooling conditions kept the cold far into the summer.

Gerolsteiner Dolomiten

The rocks "Hustley", "Munterley", "Drohende Ley", "Große Kanzel" and "Auberg" dominate the skyline from Gerolstein. The most famous peak in the Gerolstein Dolomites is the "Munterley" - with a height of 482 meters.
