The 10 km long hike leads from Gerolstein to Hillesheim. On July 1, 1912, the era of stagecoaches came to an end for Hillesheim with the commissioning of the railway line Gerolstein - Hillesheim. After the Hillesheim viaduct was destroyed in World War II, the line was decommissioned. Today, the former route from Pelm to Dohm is intended to be the hiking path. Along the way, Helmut Bell from the Jünkerath railway enthusiasts will explain the history of the railway line. Numerous mostly dilapidated structures still bear witness to the use of the line.
