Geological adventure excursion, reading from a prehistoric adventure novel at the quarry and museum exploration (With children's book author Meike Adelmann, museum director Jens Kopka, and geologist Sven von Loga)Family excursion - Adults without children cannot participateWas the little Eifelosaurus, of which only a single specimen has been found in the Buntsandstein of the Eifel, lonely while wandering in the Eifel? After an exciting geo-excursion to an Eifel volcano, we meet in the quarry where the Eifelosaurus was found, the children's book author Meike Adelmann. She sends the protagonists of her novel "The Time Machine - Trapped in Prehistory" with the time machine back to the Triassic, where they actually bring an Eifelosaurus back to the Rhineland, which later wanders through Cologne as well? In the quarry, there will be an exciting reading from this extremely paleontological time-travel crime novel. Afterwards, we all travel to the Gerolstein Natural History Museum, marvel at the reconstruction of the Eifelosaurus, and visit whole halls full of Eifel fossils. Jens Kopka, paleontologist and museum director, explains how fossils are formed and where in the Eifel we can find them – and of course answers all questions about the Eifelosaurus. (In case of rain, the reading will be moved to the museum), Participant fee: EUR 30.00
