Castle Lissingen is located in Lissingen near Gerolstein in the Vulkaneifel district of Rhineland-Palatinate and was built around 900 to 1280 a.m. The castle fascinates with its architectural styles ranging from Gothic to Renaissance and Baroque. The double castle was 1559 divided into an Upper and a Lower Castle.

The complex of the Lower Castle includes, in addition to the manor house in Renaissance style, the castle courtyard, several outbuildings, barns, stables, and the castle mill, where grain was once ground. In the mill today are a restaurant and the farm bakery. The rooster storage, large barn, and coach house are used as a museum.
