A good blues concert doesn't need much embellishment. A guitar and a good voice are enough. Ralph Brauner brings all that. He sings, plays acoustic, electric guitars and slide guitar. The musician from Trier is inspired by songs from the southern USA, where the black blues has its roots. In his colorful program of country, blues, jazz, and ballads, there are songs like Ain't No Sunshine, Layla, Over The Rainbow, Still Got The Blues, among others. Songs from other music styles are also included, such as those by James Taylor, Neil Young, or Elton John. Brauner has released 6 CDs, including 3 solo albums, one of which, Moving Forward, was nominated for the German Record Critics' Award in 2017. Admission free!
The group "Schmitzbackes & Co" is known for handmade music without significant technical effort. The musicians predominantly use acoustic instruments, such as the accordion, piano, drums, acoustic guitar, double bass, or also the violin. The musical spectrum is wide-ranging. The program includes jazz standards as well as entertainment music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s, sometimes a blues, where the musical boundaries are, as is often the case, not that far apart. And also one or another self-composed piece is included as well. A particularly interesting sound is created by the rather rarely used instruments accordion and violin. Admission free!

“Jazz for Christmas” is a traditional concert format that has been taking place for many years with the Slaughterhouse Jazzband during the Advent season at the Gerolsteiner Stadthalle Rondell. At these performances, the band presents joyful and relaxed Christmas jazz music, meaning well-known Christmas songs are reinterpreted in the style of swing and traditional jazz. International Christmas melodies are played in jazzy arrangements that range from the classic Christmas feeling to swinging interpretations. The proceeds from the event will also benefit the charity organization Eifellicht e.V. this year.
