Winter experience in the cold season

As soon as the snow falls, the Eifel becomes a unique paradise. The snowy landscape invites you to enjoy leisurely winter hikes or sledding for young and old alike. The mountainous landscape is naturally perfect for sliding down small slopes.

In the neighboring regions of the Gerolsteiner Land vacation region, you will also find individual ski areas. Of course, these areas can only be visited when there is sufficient snow.

Ice sports or sledding?

Would you rather try your hand at ice skating? In the south of the beer town of Bitburg, a large ice rink, which is even suitable for ice hockey and figure skating, attracts visitors until April. Music provides the right momentum, for example at the ice disco, and there are delicious treats to be had in the restaurant. The “Schwarzer Mann” winter sports center offers great sledding experiences.

    Ice skating at the Bitburg ice ring

    The ice rink at the Südring (next to the Bitburger brewery) in Bitburg offers a special treat during the cold season. Ice-skating for adults and children is possible six days a week. Gently glide on narrow blades over ice, make curves or turn pirouettes to beautiful music; everyone will enjoy this winter fun.

    When winter comes with enough natural snow on the "Black Man" at an altitude of 698 m, the snow-covered forest shows its most beautiful side for winter sports enthusiasts and winter hikers alike.
