The Helenenquelle on the Kyll Cycle Path near Gerolstein Town Hall is a popular resting place for cyclists and hikers. The fresh mineral water comes from a depth of approx. 90 m and can be drunk free of charge from April-October from the brass tap. Here it is worth taking a break and the park is ideal for a small picnic in nature.
The 566-meter-high, erosion-shaped volcanic cone is home to the impressive millstone caves, where angular lava clinker and porous rock provide an impressive insight into the volcanic past of the region.
You will find the the geological field with "Geodrom" in the vulcano "Kasselburger Hahn". For families with children it offers the possibility to explore the four main rock types of the Vulkaneifel. Geo-bags can be purchased for €9.50 from the Gerolstein Tourist Information Centre.
