Discover the family-friendly Kerschenbach Circular Trail KB1, an easy tour with historical sights and breathtaking nature.
From the car park at the town hall in the centre of Kerschenbach in Stadtkyller Straße, we walk along the village road (eastwards) and pass the local rest area with a shelter and children's playground. There is also a large information board from the North Eifel Nature Park here. Shortly after the rest area, we cross the Kerschenbach stream on a road embankment and then turn up the stream valley onto a field path until we reach the confluence of the Kalkerbach and Dürrbach streams to form the Kerschenbach stream. Here there is an information board about a mine accident that took place here in September 1945 (the local community of Kerschenbach would like to set up a refuge and a water playground at this point). We then turn uphill back to the village square.
There are the following special information points on the circular tour: mine accident at the Kalkerbach bridge, history of the Kerschenbach mill, Kerschenbach wayside crosses, St Lucia Kerschenbach chapel. All points have a detailed description.
The hiking trail is signposted throughout according to the criteria of the German Hiking Association. There are main signposts with distance information and intermediate signposts at regular intervals.
