Stadtkyll Wanderweg SY 6

The SY 6 hiking trail leads over a long ascent into the forest and up to the "Auf Zimmers" hill. From there, hikers can enjoy wonderful views of Stadtkyll and the Wirfttal valley.

The SY 6 hiking trail leads from the town center through Wirftstrasse along the Wirft to Feldstrasse. There you turn right and have an approx. 1.8 km long, partly steep ascent through the Motzerfeld residential area ahead of you. Later, the road turns into a wide forest path. When taking a breather along the way, you can always let your gaze wander over the wide, forest-covered Eifel landscape.

Once you reach the top, the path slowly descends through light-flooded mixed forests and broom bushes in bloom in spring. Above the "Hasu Wirfttal" barbecue hut, the path winds along the mountain before ending back in the residential area.

Around 50% of the trail is woodland and only 50% of it runs along unsurfaced forest paths. Highlights along the way are the panoramic views of the Wirfttal valley and the view from the "Auf Zimmers" vantage point. SY 6 is only suitable for baby carriages to a limited extent, as there is a steep ascent at the start.
