Berndorf Culture Trail

A picturesque route offering historical sights, breathtaking panoramas and QR codes for additional information.

From the car park at the fortified church, the path leads along the Way of the Cross down to the parish church. The first trail points 1-7 are in the village.

Follow the logo Culture Trail in an easterly direction along field paths to the "Plague Cross". On the way, you have a panoramic view of Nürburg, the Nürburgring and Arensberg. On a former Celtic path, the trail climbs slightly past the "Weinberg" quarry. Now the path branches off to the left towards the village and, after the Marienkapelle chapel, follows the field path to the heights of Berndorf in a westerly direction. In good weather, the view here extends as far as neighbouring Belgium. After crossing the road between Berndorf and the golf course, head towards Hillesheim until you see point 13 ,,Langer Stein". Then the trail goes past the Lehmkaul Biolop to the next hill, "Jischbühl".

From here you have a beautiful view over the whole village with its two churches. The trail then descends to the "Ablasskreuz" (Indulgence Cross) before it climbs around the Bubberg and approaches its destination. Once at the top, the hiker can take a detour to the fortified church.

Along the trail, guests will find QR codes at individual waypoints. By scanning these codes, hikers receive interesting information about the local sights.
