Stadtkyll Wanderweg SY 3

The 5 km long SY 3 circular tour opens up the forest area to the south of the climatic health resort of Stadtkyll. The hiking trail runs through the "dicken Bösch", a dense mixed beech and oak forest.

From the start at the church square, we head south on the local SY 3 hiking trail via the Panoramaweg into the Wirfttal valley. We pass the reservoir in the Wirfttal, which serves as a rainwater retention basin. We ascend through dense oak and beech forest to the Sängscheid forest area and then turn towards the Kleenerich weekend house area.

The circular route, which offers views to the north and east, has a few uphill sections, but the climb is worth it. Around 70% of the trail is woodland. The proportion of natural path surface is around 75%.

A lovely half-day tour with a good rest stop at the Landal vacation park in Wirfttal, south of Stadtkyll. The circular tour is suitable for baby carriages to a limited extent and requires a certain level of fitness due to the inclines at the start and halfway along the route.

The SY 3 offers beautiful panoramic views from Kleenerich. Here, hikers have a view of the climatic health resort of Stadtkyll and nearby Baasem in a north-westerly direction.
